A first!

We had a big first today...I bought diapers for the very first time! What a blessing! Kendall will be 7 months old next week and we have not had to buy diapers yet because of our wonderful friends and family. We found out we were pregnant June 4th of last year and on Father's Day, Alden and Scott suprised Randy and me with a car trunk full of diapers! That was the best present. We also were given diapers and wipes at some of our showers. Thanks so much!! I was probably the happiest person buying diapers today...we'll see how long that lasts! :)

Silliness

Here are some funny pictures we took while we were at Granny's and Papa's this weekend. Kendall has a duck towel that she uses when she's there and Mom put it on after her bath Saturday night. She thought that was pretty funny!

Whoop!!

On our way to Ft. Worth this past weekend, we went through College Station and stopped to eat at Randy's favorite place, Wings N More. This was Kendall's first trip to Aggieland, so of course we had to take some pictures before we got back on the road. Her next trip will be this weekend when we go to the first game! WHOOP!

Cracking Me Up!!

Here are a few videos of Kendall eating tonight. I was feeding her oatmeal and apples. Lately we just don't know what we're going to get with her when we feed her. Sometimes she cries and won't open her mouth, and other times she acts like she just loves it! This time she was loving it and it was making me laugh so much.

Practicing!

Here are some pictures and videos we took earlier this week of Kendall playing on her tummy. She's not too far from crawling! Watch out!

In the next two pictures, she is standing up, leaning against the ottoman. We're not holding her at all!

Sweet Potatoes!

We gave Kendall vegetables for the first time today! We started with sweet potatoes and she seemed to really like them. There was definitely a difference between the way she ate the sweet potatoes as opposed to the way she eats cereal. I think she likes the potatoes better! We spent some time yesterday cooking sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots and freezing them in ice cube trays. We're going to try making our own food and see how we like doing that. It wasn't too hard yesterday and now we have enough to last us about two weeks. We'll stick with the sweet potatoes for a couple more days, then move to the squash for three days, and then try carrots. Here are some pictures and videos from today.

Where a Kid Can Be A Kid

Tonight we went to dinner at Chuck E Cheese's with Aaron, Holly, and Ethan. Kendall is still a little young to get to play the games, but she had fun watching Mom, Dad, and Ethan play. Here is the picture of her riding in the car with Chuck E. I think she likes him!!

What a Surprise!

Tonight we put Kendall in bed at 8:30, which is her normal time to go to sleep. About 9:15 we were in the living room watching t.v. and heard her talking in her bed, which was weird because normally she falls right to sleep and doesn't wake up. We went in to check on her and were very surprised! She was on her tummy! She has only rolled over about 3 or 4 times, and never in her bed by herself. Usually we have to entice her with something when she's playing on her mat on the floor. She's getting bigger! Also, she was so pleased with herself. We put her back on her back and checked on her a little while later and she was OUT! She wore herself out working so hard. We wish we had a picture, but here are a couple of her laying on our bed the other day.

Here's another way she's getting bigger: she's getting ready to crawl! When we put her on her tummy on the floor, she kind of rocks back and forth like she's getting ready! Here are some videos. In one of them you can see that she is reaching for the remote. She LOVES the remote for some reason and always wants to reach for it! She's going to love t.v. like her mom and dad!

6 Month Checkup

We went to Dr. B's for Kendall's 6 month check-up yesterday! She did so good, even though she had to have lots of shots! She weighed in at 19 lbs 5 oz and was 27.5 inches long! Both are still above the 95th percentile, which means she is still big but porportional! No signs of teeth coming in, even though she is drooling like crazy and wants to chew on everything. She is still eating cereal just one meal a day, right before bed, and he said we can start feeding her cereal at two meals whenever she starts acting like she wants more. He was pleased with how she looked and said she is doing great!

Here is a picture of her dad making her laugh. No one makes her talk and laugh like her dad (and her puppy!).

Happy Birthday Kendall!

It's so hard for us to believe, but today is Kendall's 6 month birthday!!! She is getting so big and is doing so many new things. Here's a list:
  • Sitting in her highchair (at home AND at a restaurant!)
  • Talking...a LOT!
  • Reaching for and grabbing things she wants
  • Taking a bath in the bathtub without her newborn tub
  • Hugging her tagrag and bear blanket while she sleeps
  • Eating cereal
  • Watching anything and everything her puppy Molly does (she LOVES her puppy)
  • Smiling at her mom and dad a lot!
  • Getting way too heavy to carry in the carrier...We go to the doctor Wednesday, but Randy has weighed Kendall at home and she is over 20 pounds and has been for about a month!
  • Sitting up and playing all by herself
  • And, of course, she just makes US smile every time we look at her. She is such a blessing and we are having the most fun we've ever had!!!

Here are some of her 6 month pictures:

Photo Shoot!

Jenny took Kendall's 6 month pictures this morning and they turned out SO GREAT! It was hot and there were tons of mosquitos attacking us, but Kendall was such a trooper. Jenny is so creative and had some great ideas and they turned out so good. She has already posted some of the pictures on her blog, so go check them out!
