Fall Festival At School

Thursday was our fall festival at school! Kendall got to wear her costume and they had a little carnival set up for the kids. They even got to go trick-or-treating down in the church offices!
We had to get a picture of Kendall in her costume with Jan. She worked so hard helping me make her costume and it turned out great! Thanks, Jan!

The ark room was decorated so cute. Some moms really worked hard!

Waiting in the buggy for all her friends to arrive...
There were so many fun games to play! Kendall got to golf,
go fishing,

pick out a duck,

do the ring toss,
and play Plinko!

And the most amazing part to me was that she actually wore her costume the whole time! After they played games we walked down to the church offices to trick-or-treat.

I was surprised that she actually went into each of the offices, holding her bag, and said "Thank you!" to the ladies! Such a sweet girl.

She wasn't carrying her baby, so I'm sure most of them were probably wondering what in the world she was. Oh well. She looked cute!
I tried to get some pictures of Kendall with her friend Conner. He is close to her age and they are really good buddies. Conner's family was there and I heard them say, "Oh, so that's the woman! We knew he would like red-heads!" Ha!
Conner was a monkey. So cute!
It was such a fun day and Kendall did so well! We'll see how Tailgate Trick-or-Treating goes in College Station Saturday!

Our Garden

Two Saturdays ago we planted a garden! We have been interested in a fall garden, thought a lot about it, even went to a seminar at the library about it, and finally put it in!

We have 3 tomato plants: a grape tomato plant, a celebrity tomato plant, and a Better Boy plant. The last two are the big normal sized tomatoes. The gardener we talked to told us to just try all three, see which works best, then we can plant just that kind next season.

Closest to the fence is a row of cucumber, then a row of spinach, then a row of romaine lettuce.

Look at how much they have grown in only 2 weeks!

Every day Randy walks out to check on the garden. Kendall likes to help. :)

We'll keep posting pictures as it grows!!

Amen!

Kendall is very into praying these days. We're pretty sure she doesn't really know what it is, but she really likes to do it. We hold hands and she tells us who she wants to pray for, either Randy or I pray, and then we all say "Amen!" together. (Sometimes it does come out "Amy" though. :) Usually when we ask her who she wants to pray for she says "E-E" then "Ella" then "Aaron." Sound familiar??? She's still stuck on those three.
Two funny stories about this:
1. The other night she was in the bathtub playing with her duck that sits on the faucet. She found the duck's hands and said "hands!" I said, "Yes, those are the duck's hands!" Then she put her chubby little hands on the duck's hands and waited a minute and then said "Amen!" She prayed with her duck! So funny! I asked her who she prayed for, but she didn't tell me. I will try to get this on video next time she takes a bath. She did it several more times that night, so maybe she will do it again for us.
2. Last night Randy was gone on creative team retreat, so Kendall and I went over to the Mitterlings and watched Sarah and Caleb while Mary and Nathan went on a date. On our way home she was holding her baby and she started calling out all of her baby's parts: ears, eyes, nose, and then hands. She said hands a lot and held baby by the hands and flung him (her?) around. A few seconds later, I heard her say, "Amen!" I said, "Oh, Kendall are you praying with baby?" And when I looked back there she was holding baby saying, "Shhhh." Then she said, "Rock, rock" and held baby up by her face and rocked him (her?) back and forth. She totally went though her whole nighttime routine with her baby!! Pray, rock, and then sleep. She just does something every day that amazes me and shows me that she takes in so much and remembers so much! I'm pretty impressed with our sweet little girl!

Twins!

There is a girl at school that has red hair just like my sweet Kendall.

And her name is Kenna!

She is not in Kendall's class - she is in the 3's. Her grandma is another teacher at the school. She told me a couple of weeks ago when Kendall wore her new Halloween outfit that Kenna had one just like it! So we planned on them both wearing their matching outfits today so we could take a picture.

Kendall gave her friend a hug:
Sweet Halloween friends...and twins!

Halloween Party!

This is going to be a fun year for holidays! Kendall is at a great age. We had a party last night with some of our friends. We ate soup, decoarted pumpkins, the kids wore their costumes, we had a PARADE, and then had dessert.

This year for Halloween Kendall is...her baby! Kendall's baby is a little pink blanket with a bear; it has her name embroidered on it, and a little heart that says baby. Kendall loves her baby! So, we had the idea of making a costume so that she can be baby. It turned out really cute. Jan and Ashley made the costume and Janis Colwell did the embroidery. I helped a little with the ears.

This is Kendall's buddy, Ella. They love each other. Ella's a pretty cute little pumpkin.

Left to Right: Pumpkin, Baby, Princess, Pirate

Ella already looks up to Kendall, like Kendall looks up to Ethan and Sarah.

The crowd is gathering for the parade!

We invited some of our friends without kids at home to come be our spectators. It was pretty short notice, but we had a GREAT turnout.

Molly dressed up for the festivites also!

We also had two pirates, Minnie Mouse, Belle, Buzz Lightyear, Pablo, and the princess and the pea.

The entry number for Kendall's float was "52-30". Which is also the final score of aTm's big win over tech on Saturday!

Ethan shared his Pablo hat with Jeff!

Pumpkin decorating!
Kendall was very excited about the pumpkin decorating. She loved using the glue stick.

That is one super-sweet "Baby"!!

Pumpkin Patch!

An alternate title for this post could be "How Many Pictures Can We Take Of Kendall With Pumpkins?" And the answer would be "A Lot."
Today was a beautiful, (finally) chilly day, so Randy and I decided to take Kendall to the pumpkin patch. We LOVE going to the pumpkin patch! And we LOVE taking pictures of Kendall with lots of pumpkins.
Randy pulled Kendall around in the wagon and she bent over to pick up all the little pumpkins.

Here is a video of her in the wagon:

The only way we could get a good picture of her by the growth chart was to put her in the wagon. She kind of doesn't really stand still these days. :)

Last year..."Kendall, where is your belly?"

As she was sitting on the bench next to the pumpkin, she said, "Kiss" and bent down to kiss it, then said, "Hug" and gave it a hug. So precious!

A different-looking pumpkin...
Smelling the flower.

And here are a couple more pictures from last year at the pumpkin patch. She was 8 months old and this was her first wagon ride. :)

Sometime next week we are going to go meet our friends at the pumpkin patch in our Halloween costumes. Check back for those pictures soon!
