Not Noah's Ark

I always look forward to picking Kendall up from school and hearing what she has to say. I don't miss working there, but I do miss knowing what she does all day. On Tuesdays she goes to chapel, so on the way home today I asked her what she learned about in chapel. A couple of weeks ago they learned about Noah's Ark. So, this was our conversation today:

Mom: What did you learn about today?
Kendall: Not Noah's Ark, mom. There were no animals. There was a baby on a blanket, and there was a puddle, and a puddle (indicating two different puddles with her hands).
Mom: Wow, tell me more about that.
Kendall: Mom, I don't want talk about it anymore.

She is so funny! Maybe they learned about Moses? It's hard to say - she doesn't want to talk about it!

Cooler Weather!

It is a beautiful, much cooler day today in Lake Jackson! It was so nice to walk outside this morning and feel the cool breeze. After breakfast, I put Cooper in the Baby Bjorn and Kendall got her tricycle and we headed out on a walk. It was so great! Kendall is doing great with her tricycle, and the handles are so nice for me to be able to push and steer her. We walked around the block and then decided to head down to the park. When we got there, Aaron had Ethan and Ella there playing, so it was a nice surprise to get to play with friends. Mary met us there a little later with Sarah and Caleb, and then they came back to the house with us so that they could play in Kendall's "wittle house" with her.

They had so much fun! It was so great to be able to sit on the porch, visit with Mary, and watch the kids play. I am looking forward to doing that a lot this fall!

Our Big Pearland Adventure

I took the girls to Pearland by myself today for a morning full of appointments! It was my first time to go on such a big outing by myself with both girls and it went great. We started out going to Snip-Its to get Kendall's hair trimmed. I thought we would go right when it opened so we could get in and get out, but when we got there seven people were already in front of us! We had to wait awhile, but both of the girls were so good. Here's what Cooper did...

...while her big sister played and explored! We just love that place for haircuts - it's so much fun!
Kendall remembered the sucker she got last time and asked for it first thing when she sat in the chair. No tears this time - she was completely happy to sit and get her hair trimmed!

She's such a big girl!

All finished! So proud of her new haircut.
I intended for us to go grab lunch at Chick-fil-A next before Kendall's dentist appointment, but we had to wait so long at the hair place that we had to go straight to the dentist. She had such a great experience last time, and she was so excited about going this time, that I really thought she would do great. She did not. She got up in the chair just fine, talked to the dentist, but when she started to open Kendall's mouth and "count her teeth," Kendall got scared. I had to hold her feet and a hygenist had to hold her hands. It was not fun for her...or me! She got through the exam though, had her teeth cleaned, and was fine right when she got out of the chair! Here is a picture of her post-exam. She had her sticker and her prize and she was happy!
Finally, we were able to go to Chick-fil-A! Not as easy with two girls as with one! :) Cooper was happy to stay in her carseat, but ordering our food, getting in a booth, taking Kendall to the bathroom, getting a refill, getting Kendall ice cream, and going to play in the play area all while carrying the carseat was...an adventure! The whole morning was a fun adventure though, and I am so thankful for my two girls and the fun things I get to do with them!

Princess Night!

Tuesday night was Princess Night at Chick fil A! We couldn't pass up two of Kendall's favorite things: princesses and chick-a-lay, so we got all dressed up and went! Here are some pictures we took before we left.

Kendall got this beautiful princess dress from our friends the Genres when they brought us dinner one night. She wasn't too sure about it at first because it has lots of tool in it that itched her, but she loves it now!

Two princesses! Kendall did a great job holding her sister. :)

Then she asked if she could read to her! So cute - I got some video but blogger isn't letting my upload it right now.

Cooper doesn't look too interested. :)

We called and asked Sarah if she wanted to go to Chick fil A with us. The Mitterlings came and we got a few pictures of the girls before we had to leave because it was just so crazy! There were so many princesses there and not enough tables, so we got our food to go. Kendall was also a little overwhelmed by all the people and activity. And the big cow was there and she does NOT like him. Overall, princess night was a bust, but we did get some cute pictures!

The Little House

This past weekend, Peeps, Gigi, and Grandma Dane came down to Lake Jackson for a visit! The girls had a fun time just hanging out at home, while the boys built Kendall and Cooper a little house in the backyard!

Randy designed the plans for their project and he and his dad built it together. Here are a few pictures of the process.
It rained all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and they just worked right through the rain! They were wet for three days!

Getting ready to put on the roof...

The slide comes out a window on the left side of the house, with a ladder on the wall inside. The swingset is attached to the right side of the house. This was the last picture we took on Saturday, but on Sunday Peeps did more work. He attached Cooper and Kendall's swings, a doorbell, flower boxes, a coach light, and a step. When it dries out, we are going to paint it yellow and attach the address numbers - it will look just like our house!

Kendall just loves her "wittle house" and can't wait for it to dry out and for the mosquitoes to go away so she can play in it! Thank you Peeps! And thanks Gigi and Grandma Dane for coming down to visit!

Pictures by Jenny!

Our friend Jenny Hintze took Cooper's newborn pictures for us this past weekend! We think she did a great job and have been excited to share the pictures she took. Not only did she take pictures of Cooper, but she also shot Kendall with Cooper and by herself, as well as our whole family. We love watching Kendall with Cooper and think these pictures capture how much she loves her so well!

First Bicycle!

Kendall got her first bicycle tonight! We bought it with the money from her piggy bank. $48! First, we went to Kroger where they have a machine that takes your change and exchanges it for bills. She liked that, but was very concerned when we left Kroger without a bike. Our next stop was Wal-Mart. We ended up picking a Radio-Flyer -- can't go wrong with Radio Flyer!

Lot's of "skings" can go in this basket!

Baby is a good start!

Helping Daddy assemble the new bike!

Posing for some pictures next to her new bike - her idea!

What a face!

I think Daddy is as excited about this new bike as Kendall is. She has been talking about bicycles for months. It was so much fun to go get it for her tonight. We rode it all around the inside of the house, and even outside in the dark to go get the mail. Totally unsolicited Kendall said, "Thank you my bike, Daddy - Thank you my bike, Mommy!" What a sweet girl. It is more fun being her mom and dad than we could ever have imagined!

Our little ham

Kendall loves to ask us "what Baby Cooper saying?" and "what Baby Cooper doing?" She is always interested in what is going on with Cooper. The past few days, she has been showing us the faces Baby Cooper makes. Here is a video Randy took today of her copying Cooper.

Cinderella

Randy and I did a little cleaning yesterday and Kendall wanted to help. She has a little squirt bottle that she loves, so we put water in it and let her go to town! Also, she is in her dress up clothes all the time these days. So she was cleaning in her Cinderella dress! :) Sweet girl.

She was working so hard! I love it!

When I put the vacuum cleaner back in the coat closet, she saw her rain coat hanging up and needed to wear it. She didn't have any pants on. And she did have her princess shoes on. I think it makes for a great combination! Of course, when Randy took her picture, she had to do her poses.
This pose is still "yellow."
