Meet the Teacher!

Thursday night was Kendall's Meet the Teacher night for Wee Place for this year! We were so excited to take her to school and let her see all her old friends and her new teachers. When we got there, we were able to walk in with Aaron, Holly, Ethan, and Ella (who will both be at school this year!). Ethan and Sarah are in the class right above Kendall and Ella is in the class below her. She had to wear her sunglasses in. Most of the time they are upside down. I think she likes them that way best. :) Also, we were walking through Target the other day and happened to walk down the school supply aisle. She stopped and was looking at some folders with princesses on them. I asked her if she wanted to pick one out (they were on sale for 75 cents!) and she was so excited. Like, I can't even describe to you how sweet and thankful she was. She walked behind me through the store the rest of the time we were there holding her folder, looking at it, looking at me, and saying, "Mom. Thank you." She couldn't even believe that she got to bring it home. She had to bring it with us to meet the teacher night, of course! There were toys out on the table and puzzles that the kids could do in her class. She was a little overwhelmed at first and needed some time sitting in Dad's lap. Look at that sweet little unsure face! We don't see it very often! After a few minutes, she got down and went and played with the babies and saw some of her friends from her class last year. I never did get a picture with her, but her head teacher this year is Mrs. Heather and her helper is Ms. Alisha. School starts on Tuesday! The way drop-off works is that I will just pull up, the teachers will unload her, and she will walk in with them - I never get out of the car. Maybe for the first day I will, though. Last year I was with her a lot since I worked there, so this will be a change this year! I can't wait to see how she does and hear all the stories she will have to tell me at the end of each day!

The Little Mama

This is Kendall's "Baby Cooper" that Debbie and Micaela gave her at Cooper's shower last week. She has not put her down much since then! This week I've been working on getting all the baby gear washed and ready for Cooper, and this is what I saw one evening when I was working on the bassinet!

Then, last night, we were putting all the pieces back together on the bassinet and Kendall decided all her babies needed to get in there. She's so funny about all the baby things we are pulling back out for Cooper. She says, "I was little, I sleep in there?" Or, "I was little, I have a sass?" She's putting it all together that she used to use all this stuff, too! So funny.

She was pretty proud to show off her babies in their bed.

She even made it into a "bunk bassinet" - there were babies on top and on bottom!

Randy and I were doing something and all the sudden realized that she was singing a lullaby to her babies. I asked her if I could take a video of her singing and she was all about that! She loves to sing the ABCs to her babies - we hear her at night in her bed singing to them - so that is the only song I could get. She's going to be so sweet to Baby Cooper!

Cooper's Baby Shower

Tuesday night the girls threw Cooper and me the most fun baby shower! It was at Mary's house and everything looked so cute. My mom came in town for it and we took Kendall with us. She thought it was pretty fun to have a party for Baby Cooper!
It was so much fun to be with good friends and get ready for Cooper to be here! The girls had so much good food - chocolate fountain, sweeties, chips, salsa, and spinach artichoke dip, an awesome chocolate cheesecake, and coffee punch!
Cooper got so many diapers and nice gifts! We are so thankful. The big sister got a bunch of fun presents, too! One of the gifts she got was this dress from Kiki and Pops.
Debbie and Micaela Erskine got Cooper some diapers and then a present for Kendall...her very own "Baby Cooper!" She loves it so much and has hardly put it down since she got it. She is already taking such good care of her! Telling "the Debbie" thank you for her baby!
Alden and Scott are in town this week visiting Kevin and Jan, so Mom and her were both at the shower! So fun!
Kendall was such a good girl all night and helped me open Baby Cooper's presents. This is towards the end of the night when I asked her if I could take another picture of her and her baby. She pretended to take a picture of me, too!

Some of my favorite people! Holly, Mary, Kristin, Amy, and Noelle. Stephanie helped with the shower, too, but had to be out of town this week. I love these girls!!

It was a lot of fun to get all the presents out when we got home and show them to Randy. We are so blessed!

I loaded all the diapers into Cooper's closet. Can you even believe it?!

We are so thankful for all the gifts for Baby Cooper! Tomorrow we are 35 weeks....she is coming soon!!

Reading to her babies

This weekend we hosted one of the chaperones for the Daraja Choir from Kenya, Linah. Since we don't have a guest room anymore, Randy moved the trundle from Kendall's room into Cooper's room. Kendall thought that was pretty fun, and after Linah left, she decided to get in the bed and read to her babies. I think she's pretty cute. :)

Cow Creek, 2nd Edition!

This weekend we made a return trip to Cow Creek, Aaron's family's place just outside of Orange, Texas! We went for the first time last summer and had such a good time, or amnesia, that we decided to go back! This year we were missing the Hendersons, but here is a picture of all the kids that were there: the Beams, the Sanders, the Danes and the Mitterlings! We had such a good time and the kids had so much fun again that we are still planning on going back! In fact, every day since we have been home, Kendall has said at just random times throughout the day, "Mom, I go back to Cow Creek!"

The guys had a very exciting game of badminton Friday afternoon. Randy was excited to show off his badminton skills he learned at A&M. He made sure the guys stretched because "badminton is rary dangerous...." as his professor used to tell him. :)
Playing in the creek...
I did make it out there...twice! But when I got there, this is pretty much what I did!
We had to get in the creek a little ways down and walk for just a bit to where there was a beach area. There was more water this year, and it was moving more than last year, too!

Kendall was excited about going fishing with her daddy this year. Until we got there. Then she just watched for a minute and went back to swimming with her friends.
It was a crowded table every night at dinner! We all took a meal again and cooked for the whole gang. It worked out so great!
And at the end of the day, everyone slept in one big room!! The first night was ok, but by the second night everyone crashed fast! The grown-ups were even able to get in a game of Phase 10 and Risk! These girls were pretty excited to sleep together....but it didn't last long! They both ended up sleeping with their parents!
Thanks, Aaron and Holly! We had a great time, again! And thanks, Mary, for taking so many pictures!
We love Cow Creek!

Tee-tee for tu-tu

This is what Kendall looked like when I picked her up from her class at church today! I was so surprised! Turns out she had an accident...which she never does anymore...and this is what they changed her into because I didn't have a change of clothes or panties in my bag! She pretty much loved her outfit and couldn't wait to go find her daddy to show him her new clothes.

She got so many fun reactions and had such a blast wearing the tu-tu that we're a little afraid she's going to have accidents every week! :) Check out how hot and sweaty she is! We took these pictures when we got home from lunch after church - this is just from getting in and out of the van! It is so hot!

She took a nap in her Dora shirt and right when she got up she asked where her tu-tu was. I am afraid we're going to have a hard time getting that back to church!!
