Sea Center

Today we went on a field trip to the Sea Center here in Lake Jackson. It is really neat! And the best part...it is free! It really is kind of crazy that we have lived in Lake Jackson for over a year and haven't been there - it's one of LJ's main attractions! We met the Sanders there and it was fun!
We saw a really big shark and a medium sized grouper. They used to have this huge grouper that was named Gordon but he died recently. He was a legend and there is even a facebook group for people who loved Gordon the grouper. :) We're sad we didn't get to meet him.

This is a really neat Touch Tank where the kids can stand on the little step and touch some of the crabs and fish. Kendall wasn't very into that, but Ethan was.

Spring Break at the Beach!

We went to the beach for the first time this year on Monday! It made me so excited about taking Kendall back all summer - she loved it! Our friends Erin and Porter came down for a visit, so we decided to take the kids out to the beach. Porter just turned 2 and he had so much fun playing in the sand and the waves. I think he wanted to run right in! He kept grabbing sand and throwing it back out into the water. Kendall was very interested in the shells and enjoyed trying to pick those up.

Gigi helped keep her clean and dry - it was a tough job!
Nacho and Porter - so sweet!

I love this picture of the two of them standing in the waves.

"Mom, Dad, bring me back to the beach for a long vacation this summer!!"

We had a great time with you guys! Come back soon!

Children's Museum

Gigi and Peeps are here visiting this weekend! Peeps is doing some electrical work for us on some houses our church is rebuilding out at Surfside over Spring Break. Today while Randy and him were working, Gigi, Kendall, and I decided to go to Houston to visit the Children's Museum. They were having a Grand Opening because they just doubled their space, so admission was free today and they were having a bunch of fun events. We thought we were so smart to go there since it was a cold, rainy day and we couldn't play outside, but when we drove the hour to Houston and got to the museum, we realized the rest of the city had the same smart idea!!! The line to get in was wrapped around the building, in the cold and rain! But we were already there and didn't want to just turn around and drive an hour home, so we decided to try it out. Turns out it was worth the wait! Kendall had so much fun playing in the toddler area of the museum. It was just so perfect for her and Gigi and I had so much fun watching her explore.

Here we are waiting in the line! Part of it was under an awning, so we were out of the rain, but it was still pretty cold! Kendall did great and was happy the whole time - she just loves watching kids and there were plenty there to watch!

She LOVED this climbing toy! She kept going back over to it. Her favorite part was the holes - she just kept getting in them and sitting down. It reminded me of her sitting in her toy basket at home.

Gotta love the constant drool in every single picture.

We had such a good time at the museum! It is really cool for those of you who live here - definitely worth the trip. The toddler area was fun, but there are tons of really cool areas for older kids. I can't even believe how big it is! We will have to go back as Kendall gets older for sure!

Sunnier, Warmer Days

Looking back at these pictures I took earlier this week, I can't believe how different the weather is now! One day this week Kendall and I went to the park, walked around the neighborhood, and played outside at home, and she wore her new shorts from Michelle the whole day! She and I both even got a little sun when we were outside! Here are some pictures that will hopefully make everyone feel better about this wet, cold, yucky weather we are having. Maybe it will be like this again soon!!

Granny and Papas, I am pretending like I'm in Cozumel like you with my shades on! I hope you are having fun!

Walking around the playground wearing my new shoes!

When we were playing in the living room later that day, Kendall pointed to the toy basket, even though she had already taken all the toys out. I realized that she wanted me to put her in the basket, and when I did, she stayed in there and played for about 15 minutes! She read her books, held her babies, and just really enjoyed being in there! So funny!

Helping in the Yard

Randy will laugh at the title to this post. We were definitely not helping! But we were keeping him company! That counts for something.
Sunday afternoon we went outside with Ran while he did some major trimming on the crazy bushes and crepe myrtle tree in our backyard. Of course Kendall wanted to help pick up leaves, but that day she decided she wanted to actually go out in the grass. Up until now it seemed kind of like she didn't like the feel of the grass when she was barefoot. But she loved playing in the grass Sunday so I took lots of pictures!

At one point she noticed Molly go through her hole in the fence and go over to Frannie and Bud's next door. She had never seen it before and she was pretty curious about it! She walked over there to check it out, but she couldn't find her puppy! I guess she went inside their house.

Here are some pictures of Randy's work! He worked hard...and still feels like he just got started! Isn't that how it always is with yardwork?

"Kack Kack!"

On Saturday we went to the mall to go shopping with Granny and Papas. We got Kendall her first pair of shoes, some new pajamas, a cute outfit with matching do-rag, and some socks. We had a lot of fun, but I think Kendall's favorite part was the duck ride! We saw one of those carousel things in the middle of the mall, and it had a duck on it, which is her favorite animal right now. She loves to tell us what a duck says and gets so excited when she sees one. So of course we had to let her ride!

The worst part of the ride was when we had to take her off! She did NOT like that!

Aunt Brenda's Wedding

This weekend we went to Ft. Worth for Randy's Aunt Brenda's wedding. Randy married them and the ceremony was so sweet. Kendall did a great job and enjoyed getting to see her cousin Gracie and her second cousins Maelie and Henry.
Gigi and Peeps with both their girls.
Henry and Kendall trying to give each other a kiss. So sweet!

Congratulations Brenda and Wayne! We are so happy for you! Thanks for letting us be a part of it!
