Visiting Kiki and Pops!

I blogged already over on Cooper's blog about our visit with Kiki and Pops, but Kendall got to do a few extra fun things that Coop didn't get to do! One of those things was going to the "princess" store with Kiki on Monday. Kendall was super excited about this, and I was excited to get to tag along with them! The name of the store was "GirlyGirl," which describes Kendall perfectly! She loved sitting in the little princess chair they had sitting out front. Kiki let her pick out something from the store, and Kendall chose a pink backpack with a kitty keychain and also a set of nail polishes with lip glosses. She was in heaven! She also helped me choose a pink flower bow for Cooper and Kiki picked out the cutest birthday outfit for Coop! Kendall was so proud of her new things!! Thank you so much Kiki!

One of the other things Kendall loves to do at Pops and Kiki's house is play with and watch Conrad Birdie, the parakeet they got from Peeps. Dad sends Kendall pictures all the time of Conrad so Kendall was excited to get to "feed" him and play with him.

Dad had some rose bushes to plant while we were there, and so he asked Kendall if she would help him plant his flowers. She told him she would, but we got busy, so he ended up doing it one day during her nap. She helped him water them, but apparently that wasn't good enough because that night before we put her to bed, she asked for Pops to come up and talk to her and she told him that she didn't get to plant his flowers with him!! He told her he would get more flowers for her the next day and that they would plant them together! So Monday night, before we met Alden and Scott for dinner, Kendall and Pops planted "Kendall's garden!" So sweet! She loved helping Pops dig the holes for the flowers and put the new flowers in. He has already sent her some pictures of her garden and she is so proud!

We met Alden and Scott for dinner in Roanoke on Monday night and ate at a fun restaurant called The Twisted Root. Aunt Auggie and Uncle Scott had a birthday present for Kendall...a Hello Kitty lunch box!! Since she got it, Kendall has been saying, "Mom. What's that kitty's name?" And I say, "Hello Kitty?" "Yes! Hello Kitty!" She cracks us up. She is already carrying her jewelry, make-up, and "skings" around in it!

After dinner we were walking down the main street there in Roanoke and we saw a bunny in the front yard of this old church! Kendall was so excited to see it, and Randy was pushing her in the stroller, so she said, "Dad! Can we get that bunny?!" Of course, Randy took off after it!

They chased that poor bunny all around the old church, it came back around the front, and they kept chasing it in front of a cute little coffee shop! The bunny got away, Randy got out of breath, and Kendall got a fun ride!

She also got some sweet kisses from her sister!

That night before bed, we all went out and swam in the hot tub! Kendall wanted to take a turn in Cooper's float. :)

Happy girl!
Dad and Lisa, we had a great three days with you! Thanks for doing all those special things with us and taking such good care of us! We love yall!!

At Granny and Papas' House!

So, while Randy and I were in Dallas at Catalyst, the girls were having fun with Granny and Papas! I was so thankful Mom could take off a couple of days of school to stay with the girls - and they all did so well! I don't have a ton of pictures from their stay, but they did lots of fun things like go to the park, play with the new kittens, read books, go visit my grandparents, and go to Mom's school to see her class and her friends! Kendall said she wants to go to Snow Heights one day. :)

I think Kendall's favorite part of being at Granny and Papas' house was probably getting to play with the kittens. Their cat Cricket has 5 new kittens and Kendall just loves them! At one point, she went in the house, got this little bucket, and walked back outside and put a kitty inside it to carry it around! Mom said she was just carrying it around the yard, loving it! I love how she looks so proud in this picture. She also looks like she's saying, "Can I please have one?!" Mom said the other thing she liked to do with them was pick them up off the porch and carry them out around the yard and watch them run back to their mom. She cracks us up!

When Mom sent us this picture while we were at the conference, we had to have a serious discussion about whether or not we were going to bring a cat home with us. We decided not to, but Randy told me I was going to have to help him stay strong because looking at that picture made him want to say "yes!"

When we got there Friday night, we decided to get in the hot tub with the girls. Papas had turned it down so it was just like a warm bath and Cooper just loved it! She loves her baths, so I am sure she thought this was just the best bath ever! She was wrinkly before we got her out...I think she could have stayed in there all night!

Kendall is so brave and had fun jumping from me to Mom to Randy - she is becoming a great swimmer and she isn't afraid of anything!

Cooper's favorite part seemed to be the waterfall. She just sat there forever and kept trying to catch the water. She is so stinkin cute!

Studying....

Saturday morning Randy went to help Uncle Scott with his fence, so the girls and Mom and I got in the hot tub again! They were worn out and ready for nap time that afternoon! We had a great time with Mom and David and loved being out at their house! Thank yall for taking such good care of the girls...and of us! We love yall!

Our Trip!

We just had a great long vacation! I have lots of pictures to post but I want to tell a little about where all we went and what we did.

Last Wednesday morning (the 11th) we left really early to drive up to Ft. Worth. The girls both did so great in the car and we had a fast, easy trip. We took the girls to Gigi and Peeps' house and then Granny picked them up when she got finished with school for the day and took them home with her to her house. Randy and I drove to Dallas (by ourselves!) for the Catalyst conference. We were there Wednesday and Thursday night and then drove back to Mom's on Friday afternoon to meet back up with the girls. They all did so good while we were gone! Cooper took bottles great and Randy and I loved getting to go to the conference. We got to hear speakers like Andy Stanley, David Platt, Matt Chandler, Craig Groeschel, and lots of other cool leaders. It was a great break for me.

Friday night we got to hang out with Mom and David, and all day Saturday. It was good to just spend time hanging out with them! Saturday night we went to dinner with some of Randy's family and then moved to my Dad and Lisa's house. We spent Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights there and had a great time with them! Sunday morning we went to a couple of churches doing observations and the rest of the time at their house we just swam, ate, and played around the property. We enjoyed being there for several days spending time with Kiki and Pops!

Tuesday morning we woke up, packed up again, and went to Mike and Anita's to meet them and Val, Jeff, and the girls and head for San Antonio! We were there Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights and it was such a great vacation! We stayed at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch in a condo and everything just worked out so well and we all had so much fun. Kendall and Cooper loved playing with Gracie and Evy, Val and Jeff, and Gigi and Peeps. The drive there went really well, we went out to eat Tuesday night, and then Wednesday we hung around the hotel, swimming in the lazy river and playing in all the pools. Thursday we went to Sea World!! It was so fun watching Kendall watch the animal shows and get to feed the dolphins. We have some great pictures from there and were so thankful Gigi and Peeps took us! Friday we got up, swam a little more, and drove back to Lake Jackson!

So that was our trip! It was long, but the girls did great and we just loved every part of it! Check back soon for pictures!

Mother's Day Weekend

I had a great Mother's Day weekend with my girls and my family! Mom and David and Randy's mom and dad came down to celebrate Cooper's baby dedication with us and we had a good low-key, relaxing weekend. Saturday we went to the beach and Kendall had so much fun playing!

Love this action shot! Not real sure what she was doing...

Also not real sure why going to the beach means having to go to the bathroom fifty gazillion times! But I am real glad she has learned to just go on the beach. Now if I could just teach her how to go while still keeping her bathing suit on...

Lots of our friends were at the beach, too. Kendall loved playing with Ella!

Saturday night we went to eat mexican food and Kendall had a little chocolate ice cream. :)

Sunday morning was Cooper's dedication! We tried to get a picture of Mom, me, Kendall, and Cooper before we got ready to go in to church.

Kendall thought about going on stage with us but decided to sit with Gigi in the audience at the last minute.

She did take some pictures with us after it was all over, though.

For lunch we came back to the house and Randy and I made lunch for everyone. And of course, Kendall played dress-up. We had a great time!

This was my Mother's Day present from Randy and the girls...he framed some of the pictures Jenny took and arranged them on the wall. I loved it! He also got me an ironing board...we got some good laughs out of that! (I was secretly very excited about the ironing board!).

They Match!

It doesn't happen often, but I love any chance I get to have the girls match! I found these purple shirts on sale a few weeks ago and bought one for each of them to wear....and they both let me put them in them on the same day!

I love how Kendall and Cooper love each other!

She was holding onto Cooper so tight - she was not going to let her fall!

Eventually Cooper did wiggle out, though....oops!

Sweet sisters!

Let's Go Fly A Kite!

One of Kendall and Cooper's Easter presents from Granny was a really cool kite! It is really neat how it works - it just folds up and fits inside a little bag, so all you have to do is pull it out, attach the string and its ready to go! We took it to the park a couple of weeks ago with the Sanders to try it out - it was a great night to fly a kite!
Kendall was a little worried about it at first - but then she thought it was pretty cool!

Yea!!

So excited!!

The kids lost interest after awhile and started throwing rocks in the pond. We had a great time learning how to fly the kite!! Thanks Granny!
