Meet in the Middle!

This past Saturday we drove to College Station for the day to meet Gigi and Peeps (and Gracie!) for the day. They haven't been to Lake Jackson in awhile and can't come until later in July, so they asked if we would meet them halfway so they could see Kendall. We had a fun afternoon/evening in Aggieland! We started at Chuck E Cheese and the mall, tried to go walk around campus but it was too hot, then went to Wings N More to have dinner. Wings N More is Randy's favorite place to eat. Here are some pictures from dinner.
One of the things Kendall loves to do these days is pat people on the back. Here she is giving Gigi and Gracie a "pat, pat, pat."

She also loves Peeps' hat. She thought she would teach Gracie about how much fun it is to take his hat on and off.

A hug and kiss for Gigi and Peeps. Kendall loves you guys! We had fun!

Aggie Girl

Wednesday night, Kevin and Jan had us over to cook-out and watch LSU beat the Longhorns in the College World Series (Whoop!). Kendall wore her new Aggie outfit mom got her and looked so cute. When we got there, Jan and Kevin had a surprise for Kendall....an A&M bag chair! They said they just had to get it for the littlest tailgater! It is so cute and Kendall looked precious sitting in it. It's just her size! We can't wait for football season so we can take it to the tailgates and she can have her very own chair!

After dinner, Kendall, Ethan, and Jeff made up a game where they would stand at the front door, say, "On your mark, get set, go!" then race into the living room and fall on the floor. Kendall thought it was so funny when Jeff would fall on the floor. Thanks for being such a good sport, Jeff!

Every Thursday night while Randy and I go to our college Bible study, Kevin and Jan keep Kendall for us. Well, last night when we went to pick her up, they told us that she took Kevin by the hand, pointed at the front door and said, "Go!" When they ran from the front door into the living room, she pointed at the floor! She wanted him to fall on the floor just like Jeff had been doing the night before! She's so funny and so smart to remember things like that!

Children's Museum

We had such a fun visit with Granny! She got here Monday. Tuesday morning we went to the beach, came home for a nap, then went shopping Tuesday night. That Granny knows how to spoil her Kendall! She got new shoes, new clothes, a new Aggie bathing suit and outfit, a baby stroller that she has pushed around non stop since we got it, and some other fun toys. Thank you Granny! Wednesday we went to the Children's Museum in Houston and then had a party over at the Johnson's to watch the last game of the College World Series.

It was a lot of fun to go back to the Children's Museum. We went for the first time in March when Gigi and Peeps were here. Remember, that was the time when it was opening day and Kendall, Gigi, and I waited for a little under an hour out in the cold rain to get in! It was worth it that day though because Kendall had so much fun. Well, she was a little older this time and could enjoy even more. We look forward to taking her back as she gets bigger and bigger because there are so many cool things there! Her favorite part: the car!

She loved sliding!

Happy girl!

Figuring things out...

We had to tear her away from this. She loved putting the ball at the top and watching it roll down!

This was a neat thing kids could sit on and then pull the ropes to raise themselves up. Kendall sat and Granny pulled. So much fun! And yes, she is buckled in!

Peek-a-boo!

We had a fun day at the museum!

Granny's New Butterfly!

Granny came to visit us this past week! We had so much fun and I have lots of new pictures to post. But first....

Kendall's Granny and Aunt Alden went and got tatoos recently! Wild women! Here is a picture of the two of them:

When Granny got here Monday afternoon we showed her butterfly to Kendall. After that, anytime we would ask Kendall where Granny's butterfly was, she would point to her shoulder. So funny!

Longview Trip!

This weekend we drove to Longview to spend a couple of days with our college friends the Mitchells - David, Amy, and baby Kate! Kate is 6 months old and this was our first time to get to meet her. She is precious! We had so much fun just hanging out and catching up. Our group of college friends gets together at least once a year for a "reunion," and last year Amy was pregnant with Kate:

We will all be getting together again this year at the end of July, but we have been trying to find time to go to Longview just to see David and Amy and were finally able to do it!
Kendall loved playing with Baby Kate. Even though we said it a million times, and we practiced saying Kate's name all week before we went, Kendall still called her "Ella" all weekend. We think it is so funny that every baby she sees is "Ella!"

Kendall saw Kate's jumperoo and it made her remember the good ol' days. She asked to get in it and she just looked so big!

Saturday we went to David's parents house to go swimming. They have the prettiest pool I have ever seen - it looks like it belongs in a resort! On one side there is a huge rock formation with a slide that goes down it. We tested it out and then decided to take Kendall down. She loved it, of course! Once we started sliding, we couldn't stop.

Kendall loved swimming on Randy's stomach.
Whenever Randy would go near the waterfalls, Kendall would just squeal and laugh! She loved them!

David and Amy, we had such a fun trip! Thanks again for having us! Come see us at the beach sometime!

The Game of Love...

Our message series at church for May/June was "The Game of Love." Each week we had a game show: Deal or No Deal, Wheel of Fortune, Trivial Pursuit, Millionaire, and Jeopardy. Randy was the host of the game show each week, and I was his "smashing assistant!" The host's name was "Dandy Rane," and he was very funny.

These are from this past Sunday. We are playing Jeopardy. Randy hosted the game show, changed clothes and then preached the message. It was a busy morning!

Blog Book

We got our blog book in the mail about a month ago and I was so excited to see it! I worked for a few months on editing it and I'm really proud of it. It ended up being about 160 pages and it goes from November of 07 when we started blogging to this February when Kendall turned one. My plan is to do a book each year, just in case anything were ever to happen to our blog. And it is like the best baby book ever! Everything is documented in it. I just love it.

This next picture is a little fuzzy, but it kind of gives you an idea of how the book is laid out. All the pictures are in there along with the text we wrote on each post. It also has the date of each post, which is great.
The website I used was www.blurb.com. I was very pleased with the quality of the product and the cost. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to print their blog!

Zoo Day!

Tuesday Kendall and I went to the Houston Zoo for the first time. We went with a big group of moms and kids and it was a lot of fun, but it was also very hot! Kendall really seemed to enjoy looking at the animals and playing with her friends. She was so happy all day and took a great nap when we got home!

Here she is checking out the elephants. I asked her what an elephant says and she raised her arm like a trunk and made a sound like an elephant that I can't type. But she did it! It was so cute! I tried to get a video, but no luck.
Posing for a picture with Sarah.
So excited to see the giraffes! Here she was saying "Raf! Baby! Raf!" because there was a baby giraffe.

Baby giraffe

She stayed in her stroller a lot of the day. Here she is checking out the sea lions.

Her favorite part may have been playing in the playground.
Just because I am loving those curls these days...
Watching a puppet show in the children's zoo. All her friends are over there on that bench.

All the moms and kids at the end of the hot day! There were 7 moms and 12 kids. It was crazy but we had a great time! And we definitely plan on going back...but not until at least October!
