Playing in the Fountains!

In our downtown area, next to the library and the civic center, there are some little fountains that the city turns on during the summer for kids to come play in. Kendall and I had never been before. Yesterday it was a little overcast, and we decided to make a trip to the library so I could get a book to study for the GRE and Kendall could exchange her books. I decided to throw her swimsuit ("swim-soup") in the car just in case the fountains were on and she wanted to play in them. I wasn't sure she would want to get wet, especially since we would be by ourselves, but when I told her about splashing in the fountains, she got really excited and said, "And I will jump in them and get wet?!"
When we got to the library, I drove by the fountains first to see if they were even on, and they were! Kendall wanted to play in them right then, but I told her we had to go to the library first while she was still dry. We went and got our books, and then headed back out to the car to change clothes. She was headed off down the sidewalk before I could even grab her towel and the camera!
She loved it! I called Randy and he came and met us there on his way home for lunch. She was excited to show Daddy how she could run and get wet!

We were the only ones there! It was great.

Beautiful girl!!
She saw me taking pictures and asked if she could take some, too. She said, "I take picture of mommy and daddy." Not too bad! :)

Here's a short little video. She would run from me and Randy, through the fountains, out the other side, and then all the way around back to us. We will definitely have to go back some day!

New Pool!

We got Kendall a new pool today! She was so excited about it, and we told her that when she got up from her nap we could go swim. When I went to get her up, the first thing she said to me was, "I want to go play in my pool." We quickly aired it up and headed outside! :)

We set it up on the driveway tonight because Randy and I wanted to do some work in the garage. From now on though, we'll keep it in the backyard. The driveway made us a little nervous! It's the cutest pool - the elephant is a slide and it spits water out of it's trunk like a fountain. She loves it and played for so long!

Molly decided she wanted to get in on the action, too! She kept jumping up on the slide and sliding down. She also barked like crazy - it was like she was worried that the water was hurting Kendall and she was trying to protect her.

We also finished getting things for Kendall's room today! We'll post pictures of those later this weekend! We had a busy, but fun day today!

Belly Pictures

I posted these pictures already over on Cooper's blog, but I had to post them on Kendall's, too. She just cracks us up! This morning I had my doctor's appointment and when I got home, we decided to take a picture of my belly for this month. Well, Kendall had to get in on that too and grabbed her camera to take some of her own pictures. I tried to get her to let me leave my shirt down, but she kept making me pull it up before she would take a picture. She had to see Baby Cooper!

After Randy took pictures of me, Kendall said, "Dad! Take my picture, too!" Randy told her he would, so she ran and stood where I was standing and then even raised her shirt! I love that belly!!
Cutest girl!

Lunch With Great Granny

Wednesday we went to lunch with my Granny, Kendall's Great Granny. We met her at Salad and Such - one of my favorites! Kendall was excited to see her.
Granny brought her two new books and Kendall had to read them right away! She has read them over and over since then, too! Thanks Granny!

We tried to get a picture of the three of us, but Kendall wouldn't cooperate.
Thursday we left to head home to Lake Jackson. We had a great trip, but were also excited to be back home. Randy got home from Bolivia last night at midnight and Kendall was so surprised when he walked in her room to wake her up this morning! We missed him so much after his 10 day trip and are so glad he is home with us now!!

The Rest of our Ft. Worth Trip

After going to the zoo on Monday, we headed over to Granny and Papas' house! Kendall was excited to see them and took a great nap after a busy morning.
When she got up, Granny gave her a dress she had made for her - so cute!

Monday night, my Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner. It was great to see them, and we took a picture of four generations!
Kendall asked Papas to play the guitar for her several times when we would sit out on the porch after dinner. Not real sure why she doesn't have pants on in this picture - oh well! :)

Aunt Auggie was able to come over one night for dinner and she took this great picture of Kendall after she had been playing in the flower beds - Mom said she looks like little orphan Annie! Love it!
More song time with Papas! Kendall even helped him play a little bit!

We had a great visit with Granny and Papas! We love yall!

Funny Kendall

I have more pictures to post from our trip to Ft. Worth this past week, but I have to wait until Randy gets home with the laptop...which will be tonight! He has had a great week in Bolivia and we had a good time in Ft. Worth, but we are both ready for him to be home with us!
In the meantime, I have a funny story from when we were at my Mom and David's. We were sitting outside on the back porch one night, and I looked over and Kendall was spitting in the grass. She started this a couple of months ago and every once in awhile we will catch her spitting...in her hand, on the carpet, or outside. We don't know where she learned this and tell her over and over again that that is gross and we don't do that. So this week when I saw her do it, I said, "Kendall! We don't spit." She looked at me and said, "Yea! We does!" I laughed and said, "No, Kendall. We don't." And she said, "Yea Mom! We does!" It cracked me up - I wish I had a picture of her face when she was looking at me saying, "Yea! We does!" Oh my.

Zoo Trip!

Monday we met Erin, Porter, and Harrison at the Ft. Worth Zoo!!! It was so great to get to spend time with them and let Porter and Kendall get to know each other better. It didn't take long for them to be great friends! It really helped that Porter brought an extra fan to share with Kendall. And, it was pink! She loved that fan and wore it all day.
They had fun holding hands! What sweet friends!

Checking out the monkeys.

There is a new reptile and amphibian house open at the zoo called the Museum of Living Art (MOLA). It was so neat! This turtle kept swimming right in front of Kendall and Porter. Kendall told me she was scary of that. :)

Other than hanging out with my friend, the thing I was most excited about was getting to meet this guy! Harrison is four months old and this was my first time to get to meet him! He is so precious and looks so much like Porter to me. He did great in the stroller all morning - but I think the fans Erin rigged up helped!
I love this guy, too!! So precious! And getting so big.

Thanks for meeting us at the zoo, Erin!! We had a blast! Here is a video of the kids playing at lunch.

Our Weekend in Ft. Worth

Kendall and I are in Ft. Worth! Randy left Friday for BPF's mission trip to Bolivia (www.bpfbolivia.blogspot.com) and we left the same day to come visit our families! We had a long, good drive, and got to Kiki and Pops' house around 5:30 Friday afternoon. Alden, Scott, and Megg came over for dinner and we enjoyed getting to spend time with everyone. Before we were able to eat dinner, Kendall went outside to play with Pops and Megg. When Alden and I looked out the window, this is what we saw!!
She couldn't wait to get in the pool and somehow ended up all the way in with her clothes off! Silly girl! Silly Pops!
After dinner, we went outside because Kendall wanted to play croquet. We played on the driveway and she really liked Kiki's big red ball. She wanted Pops to bounce her on it and didn't want to stop! :)

Saturday Kendall slept late and then we got her ready to go see Gigi and Peeps! I dropped her off at Chuck E Cheese with them and Val, Gracie, Baby Evy, and Grandma Dane. Kendall was pretty excited! I will have to get some pictures from them soon to post.
While she was busy playing, I got to go see Wicked in Dallas with Dad, Lisa, Alden, Scott, and Megg! It was so great and we had an awesome time at the musical and then at dinner. Thanks Dad and Lisa!
After dinner, I went over to Mike and Anita's and spent the night there with Kendall. She had had a busy, fun day and I loved hearing all about it. Before she went to bed, we were able to get a picture of Gigi and Peeps and all three of their girls!

After church this morning, we went to lunch with Gigi and Peeps and then came back over to Pops' and Kiki's for a nap. I had to wake Kendall up at 6:00 - she took a great nap! We got in the pool again, and then she spent some time playing with Kiki and Pops. While her and Kiki were coloring, she decided she needed to get some glasses on like Kiki and I was able to get some cute pictures!

We have had a fun weekend and are looking forward to going to the zoo tomorrow with the Gorham's and then heading over to Granny and Papas' house! More pictures to come!
