Hot Tub...Bubbly!

After dinner tonight Granny and I took Kendall out to the hot tub. She has been swimming a lot lately at the Rec Center pool in Lake Jackson, so she was super excited about getting in the hot tub. She swam back and forth between mom and me and splashed a bunch. The funniest part though was when Papas put Molly in with us! She was crying to get in and when we put her in she swam around and loved it! She kept wanting to kiss Kendall's face and Kendall would just laugh and laugh. So fun!

She loves to lay on her back and float. I'm so suprised by that.

Molly playing with Kendall. You can't tell it here, but Kendall was laughing so hard.

Kendall's Wheels

Kendall and I are in Ft. Worth! We drove up today and will be here through next week. Randy is on a mission trip to Mexico (the link to their blog is on the right). We already miss him tons and hope they are having a good trip. Peeps went with him, so Kendall got to see him in LJ last night before they left today!

When we got in tonight, Kendall was so ready to be out of the car! So ready in fact, that she immediately started playing in Granny and Papas' car! She loved playing in this and had a great time just running around in the grass after being in the car so long. Here is a video Granny took. More than actually pushing herself in the car, or being pushed by one of us, she mainly loved getting in and out, opening and shutting the door. We had a great time watching her!

Happy Birthday Sarah Grace!

Today we went to Sarah Grace's 2nd birthday party! It was supposed to be at the park at Shy Pond, but since it has been raining for like 3 days and today it has rained nonstop, Mary and Nathan had to move the party indoors. They ended up being able to have it at the Sea Center in their conference room! The kids got to look at the fish and we all ate cake and ice cream and watched Sarah open presents...and stayed dry! Kendall wore the outfit her Aunt Alden got her for her birthday and she looked super cute. Her hair is just getting so thick and it's so curly. We love it. Kendall ate lots of cake and ice cream - way more sugar than she usually has - and was pretty hyped up at the party. Then when we got in the car to come home, we gave her her baby and her paci and she was out! It was a total sugar crash - so funny!

She loves balloons! When we are driving in the car, and see some outside a building or apartments or something, she notices them and gets excited. She enjoyed playing with these today.
All the kids!

This Girl Loves Sand

Today we took Kendall to the beach. She had so much fun! She played non-stop for an hour and a half. She dug, played in the "waterin' hole" we made, and worked very hard. The water was pretty cold, so we only got a little wet. She is really going to be a beach-bum this season.

Here is a picture of Kendall playing in her new sandbox at home. She really likes it, and can open it up herself. A LOT of sand ends up outside of the turtle!

The Easter Dress

So Cute!

The Easter Bunny Came

A couple shots of Kendall Easter morning before church. It is hard to get excited about your Easter basket right when you wake up!

Some Easter Videos

The Nest is Built!

Well, actually the nest was built and rebuilt. This is the start of a tradition with Kendall that comes from Ashley's side of our family. The night before Easter you build your nest outside of your bedroom door so that the Easter Bunny can put your treats in it. Kendall really enjoyed building the nest, destroying it, and rebuilding it. This was the first time all week that her Easter basket had grass in it...she was very interested!

In a couple of years she can learn the traditions that come from my side of the family: birdseed egg fight and a kickin' prize egg...Rock On!!

The Easter Bunny (and some awesome grandparents) hooked Kendall up!

Way More Than ONE Egg!

Today we had an Easter Egg Hunt with Sarah Grace and Ethan, that Mrs. Fonda put together. It was AWESOME! Mrs. Fonda even had a special basket for every kid with their own toys after the hunt. This time Kendall got way more than one egg! The egg to kid ratio was definitely in her favor. She was so much more into egg hunting than we would have ever imagined. She loves it...I think she is addicted!

Crawfish Boil

Tonight we had a crawfish boil at the Johnson's. Kendall had a lot of fun playing with Sarah Grace. She didn't feel too bad for the crawdads...they looked kind of mean!

Uh-Oh...the BIG * 3 - 0 *

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY AUNT VAL!!!
I have a surprise for you behind my back.
I bet you thought it would never come!
Here it is...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Man I am cute!

It wouldn't be a birthday without a poem...

"My diaper is dirty, dirty!
Guess who is thirty, thirty?

My Aunt Val is thirty,
and she is lil' bit nerdy.

Not really! Well, just a little bit...
Oh well."

I hope you have a great 30th Birthday and that I get this diaper changed!

First Easter Egg Hunt!

Yesterday was Lake Jackson's City Easter Egg Hunt at the park! We were so excited to take Kendall to hunt eggs for the first time, but we really weren't sure how she was going to do. They have it broken up into different areas by ages, and if your kids are walking, they don't let you go out and help them. So we really didn't know if Kendall would understand what she was supposed to do. We tried to practice at home some with her basket, but that didn't go so well.

On our way to the hunt!

The hunt started at 5:30 SHARP! So we got there super early so we wouldn't miss it. Randy is on the Parks and Rec Board for the city of LJ, so he was there before us volunteering and helping make sure people didn't get out in the hunting areas early. We had to wait awhile with our friends. Kristin and Blake, Holly, Aaron, Ethan and Ella, and Mary, Nathan and Sarah were all there waiting with us. The kids could see all the eggs and didn't understand why they couldn't just run out there and get them!

When they finally blew the horn to let the kids go, Kendall ran out there and then just froze! She wasn't crying, she was just standing there staring at one egg, frozen for a long time! It was so funny! Randy was able to be out there because he was helping, so when he walked over to her, she started crying, I guess because she got overwhelmed by all the kids. It was pretty funny. She calmed down quickly and when Randy put her down, she found one egg. Just one! And she was so proud of that one egg.

Notice she doesn't have her basket. It was just too much to think about to carry the basket AND go after the eggs. Maybe in all our Easter festivities this weekend she will get that part down.

We wanted to get a picture with Kendall sitting in the Easter bunny's lap, but the line was super long and we had our college small group to get home for. So, we posed next to him. We just knew that we would wait in that long line and then get up there and she would cry like she did with Santa. Maybe next year!

(It was very windy!)
