Meeting Baby Evy

This weekend we drove up to Ft. Worth to meet our new neice, Evelyn Claire Davis. She was born on Tuesday morning and weighed 10lbs 11 oz! She was 23 in long. Val and Evelyn are home from the hospital and are both doing great. We were excited to get to meet her Thursday night, but I don't know that anyone was quite as excited as her cousin Kendall! She has been talking and talking about Baby Evy. She loves babies so much these days and loves to talk about when Baby Cooper comes, so she was super excited to get to see Evy.
I loved all of these pictures of her holding Evy so much, so there are a ton here! It was so sweet to watch her rub Evy's face, hold her hands, and play with her hair.
Look at that face! I can not WAIT to see her with her new baby sister in a few months!
Gracie decided she needed to get in on the action, too. Poor Evy!
She just kept laying her head down on her chest. So sweet!
And this would be when she rubbed her head a little too hard! Look at Evy's face! Oh Kendall. She really was gentle most of the time!

She loved playing with her cousin Gracie, too! They played together on the slide and took turns.
Grandma Dane and Evy
Friday morning we got to go up to Granny's classroom and see her friends and students. It was their last day of school! Kendall was a little overwhelmed by all the people, and stayed in Granny's lap most of the time.
Granny got her a monkey that laughs and rolls on the floor and some new nursery rhyme books with CDs!
Friday evening we went over to see Pops and Aunt Megg. Kiki was out of town. Kendall got to help water the flowers with Pops and loved that. She especially loved the new piggy watering can Kiki had.
Sweet picture! She loves her Pops!
Friday night we went back over to Val and Jeff's to see the girls again. We were even able to get a picture of Gigi with all her girls! Pretty soon there will be four!
And then Kendall was tired! She rested for awhile in Evy's chair.
It was great to get to see everyone this weekend. Kendall did so well - she does great on the 6 hour trip, but usually only sleeps for about 30 min in the car. She didn't nap on Friday, so she went three days without her normal three hour nap! Randy preached at church this morning, and now we are all home and Kendall is taking her first nap in her big girl bed! More on that to come!

Work in Progress!

We are getting closer and closer to being finished with Kendall's new room! Friday we had the walls painted "Skylark" blue and we love how they turned out! Here are the most recent pictures. We have the bedspread, the walls painted, the dresser, and tonight Randy hung the mirrors and we put the rail on the bed.

Now just the finishing touches are left: bookshelves, shelves on the wall, ceiling fan installed, and we are going to have our friend Schelli come and paint accents on the walls. Here's a video Randy took tonight. :)

Pink Milk

Randy made Kendall some pink milk the other day. She still loves pink everything!

Update

There's an update on Baby Cooper over on her blog!

Splash Day!

Today was Kendall's last day of preschool for the summer! To celebrate, we had Splash Day at school where they had pools and waterslides and bubbles, snowcones, and a picnic! It was a lot of fun. I was able to sneak away from my class some to take pictures and Randy came for part of it this morning!
I took a few pictures of her at the house before we left.

After I finished taking her picture, she asked me if I would take a picture of her babies. She has been carrying both of them around lately ("new baby" and "old baby"). I need to try and put new baby back up soon!
Her class started off the morning on the playground. Her teacher Mrs. Christine pushed some of the kids on the little bikes.
Kendall and Jillian peeking on top of the slide! She loves her friend Jill!
Back in the room for a snack. This was when Randy was with her. I don't know what that face is about! That is Conner and Jillian - her best buddies in her class. We are going to have to get together with them over the summer! She just loves Conner. Anytime this week that I would ask her about playing in the water at Splash Day, she would just say, "No. I'm just going to watch Conner."
Randy played "Ping Around the Posie" with the kids (as Kendall calls it)!
Then it was their turn to go outside and play in the pools! This is what Kendall did at first - just watched!

Then she figured out that she could still splash but not get in. She did this for awhile, and I eventually had to leave and go with my class to a new rotation. When I looked over later, though, I saw that she had finally gotten in the water! Several times she would jump in and then lay on her belly or her back! I was able to come back and get some videos, and I think Mary got some pictures I will have to get from her later. :)

In this first video, watch for where her bathing suit has scooted up to. It is pretty cute!!!
We had a great last day and a great year at Wee Place! Kendall will be going back in the fall, but I will not! Cooper and I are going to stay home. I know that Kendall will be ready to go back!

Pink Cakes

Lately Kendall has been talking a lot about "pink." Everything that she likes, she likes it pink. For example. "I like Chick-a-lay. I like PINK Chick-a-lay!" Or, "I want to watch PINK Sesame Street." And, "Kendall, where does Toma live? Does he live in Cambodia?" "No, he lives in PINKbodia!" Everything is pink.
For dinner last night, Randy made pancakes. We decided maybe Kendall would like it if we made PINK pancakes. We were right - she was pretty impressed and really enjoyed the PINK pancakes. Maybe we should try PINK mashed potatoes. Or PINK chicken nuggets.
Also, please excuse the ragamuffin look she is working here. She had a late nap after our trip to Ikea and we were just hanging out at home last night.
In addition to the dresser, mirrors, and lamp we purchased at Ikea, we also bought the cutest little plates, cups, and bowls for Kendall. They were super cheap! 6 bowls for $3! 6 cups for $3! And 6 plates for $3. Of course, Kendall had to drink something out of the PINK cup really quick! Here she is having some after-dinner juice.

New Dresser!

Randy spent a lot of time today putting together Kendall's new dresser! We really like it and are super excited about getting the rest of the room finished. So far we have her bedding and her dresser. And a new lamp. What we have left to do is paint the walls, get or build a bookshelf or bookshelves, and find someone to buy the antique dressers we have in that room right now.

For the picture's sake, remember that the walls aren't painted, the mirrors aren't hung, and the old furniture is still in there. More to come!
Here is her new bedding (not her actual bed!)...
...and her new dresser, mirrors, and lamp!

Ikea Day!

We took a trip to Ikea today for the first time! We went looking for some new furniture for Kendall's new room. It was quite an adventure! Here she is, all ready to go!
Look at our beautiful hydrangeas on the counter! Those are growing all over our hydrangea plant in the backyard right now.

We ate lunch when we got there. Of course we packed Kendall's lunch, but she enjoyed sitting at the cute little Ikea table with her Ikea bib on!

Halfway through, right before you enter the children's area, there is a slide! Kendall did such a great job sitting in her stroller the whole time, so we took a break to slide a few times.

We found a dresser we love! This is it, but I don't think it's the right color. Kendall's is a little darker - more navy. We also bought two white mirrors to hang on the wall above it, as well as a cute pink lamp and some fun plates, cups, and bowls for Kendall. We are still looking for a bookshelf - we didn't really like anything we saw at Ikea. We're excited to have the dresser, though! Now to put it together....
