Our Smart Girl!!

The past few road trips we have taken, Kendall hasn't really slept that much. When she was little she used to sleep almost the whole way, but now she's usually good for just about 30 minutes - even if we drive during her normal nap time. She usually takes a 3 hour nap at home, but in the car she only sleeps about 30 minutes. We can't complain though, because she is such a good girl when she is awake! She never fusses or cries. We just talk or sing or read - we don't have a DVD player in the car and so she doesn't even watch movies! She's content just to sit and talk with us.

Well, on the way to Ft. Worth this past week, we were talking and trying to keep her busy (it's about a 5 hour trip). At one point we were counting something, and I said, "One, two, three..." and all of a sudden we heard Kendall say, "Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten!" We couldn't believe it! We have counted things her whole life - I feel like I'm always either counting or singing the ABC's - but we have never heard her count. In fact, when she is "counting" something, she usually just points to the things and says, "Two, two, two..." Everything is two. When she started counting to ten, we couldn't believe it with each new number that she said! It was so crazy to hear our 21 month old "baby" counting! Who knew she was listening?! :)

Thanksgiving Trip Continued

Friday morning we woke up and had a lazy morning with Granny and Papas. No early morning shopping for this family! It was great to just spend the morning hanging out. Around lunchtime we got ready and went to go see Alden and Scott's new house. It's just about 5 minutes from Mom and David's house, and it is a great house! We are so excited for them that they can finally be settled somewhere closer to the church.
Kendall loved talking to Nicholas through the back door. She calls him "Nockolas." :)
Flying with Aunt Auggie
After that we all headed over to the new Pizza Inn for some lunch. Kendall danced with Granny in the high chair.

Check out Granny's newest tatoos!! :)

After a long nap Friday afternoon we packed up and headed over to spend the night with Kiki and Pops. Dad got out my old Fisher Price house and Kendall had so much fun playing with it! We loved watching her put the people in the chairs and place the chairs up next to the table. She is just getting so big!

After dinner we helped put the ornaments on the Christmas tree. Kendall only broke two....:(

Right after she dropped this one we decided it was time for bed!
Saturday morning she went on a walk around the property with Kiki and Brady.

Then we took some family pictures for our Christmas card. It's not easy these days with our busy little girl!

Mom got Kendall this dress for Christmas. I love it so much - it has her monogram on it!
After lunch we loaded up and started the drive back to LJ. Kendall was just talking and singing so much in the backseat, then she asked for her glasses. I gave them to her and about 2 minutes later we looked back and this is what we saw. She had totally crashed with her glasses on! So cute!

We had a great trip and were so glad we got to spend time with everyone. Happy Thanksgiving...now on to Christmas - my favorite!!

Thanksgiving 2009

We have a busy day on Thanksgiving each year, but we love it and wouldn't do it any other way! We go four different places, see all our family, and have a great time.
This year we started off at Randy's Grandma Dane's Thanksgiving. It's actually at his Aunt Brenda's house. We got a few more pictures of Kendall and Gracie in their matching turkey bows.

We try for a family shot every chance we get because most of them turn out like this...not great! We figure that eventually one will work out. :) Kendall is just not in a good picture-taking stage right now. She's way too busy!
Playing on the floor with her cousin Lorelai.
Eating her first Thanksgiving dinner of the day. She had yogurt. :) Of course!

From there we moved on to my Granny's house - my Dad's mom. Kendall loves this pillowcase doll she has.

Eating a second time in her special chair her Great-Granny has for her.

Getting to know her cousin Kyrie. Kyrie just turned 2 in October.

Loving on Aunt Megg!

After that we headed to Randy's Aunt Kathy and Uncle Frank's house. They hosted his Mamaw and Papaw's Thanksgiving this year because Mamaw was in the hospital. Sadness! My Granny and Randy's Aunt Kathy live less than a mile from each other. This is what happened when we were on our way there!

I sat out in the car with her for a little while so she could get a quick cat-nap in!
We were able to get a family picture of the 8 of us while we were there. And no, even though it looks like it in this picture, I am NOT pregnant like my sister-in-law!

Our last stop of the day was at my Mom and David's house. We gave Kendall a bath, put her in her pajamas and settled in to watch the Aggies play. Kendall had a blast playing in "Papas' car" before taking a break to sit with Granny.

It was so nice to have a fire in the fireplace!

We had such a great time with all our family! We are thankful for our parents who love us and Kendall so much! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Kendall and Gracie

Tuesday night we got to Gigi and Peeps' house, met Uncle Dohe, Aunt Val, and Gracie for dinner, I went to have coffee with Erin, and Kendall went to bed. When we got up Wednesday morning though, Val and Gracie came over to spend the day with us! It was so much fun to watch Kendall and Gracie play together. Gracie is starting to walk (she's 9 months old!) and Kendall had a lot of fun playing with her.
Here's Kendall helping Gracie up so she can walk with her...

...but Gracie needed a little more help than Kendall could give!

Sweet cousins!

Check out Kendall's turkey bow! I love it!
Funny girls!

Kendall is very into playing "Ring Rosie" these days. Here she is playing with Peeps.

"All fall down!!!"

Wednesday night Kendall and Gracie took a bath together. Those little naked girls were so cute!
Funny face!

Gracie was very interested in Kendall's belly button.

We had so much fun hanging out with Gigi, Peeps, Gracie, Val, and Dohe! Christmas with these two girls is going to be a blast!

Thanksgiving Feast

On Tuesday we had our Thanksgiving feast at school! I was subbing in Kendall's class, so I was able to be with her and take some pictures of her.

I think she must have been practicing here...
Having a snack with her friends. She is doing so great at school. She's learning to share and be a good friend. :)

"Mo shoos please Mommy." (Kendall talk for "More juice please Mommy!!" :)

Sitting at the big table for the feast. We sat with our friends the Garretts. Their daughter Jillian is in Kendall's class.

Oh, Daddy...
Even though he showed us his food, we were so glad he was able to come to the feast, too!

Sweetest face!

We had a great time at the feast, got everything cleaned up, ran home really quick to meet Randy and then got on the road to head to Ft. Worth! It was a busy day. Check back soon for more pictures of our busy Thanksgiving week with family!
