Anniversary Weekend!

Randy and I celebrated our 8th anniversary on Tuesday! This past weekend my mom came down to LJ to take care of the girls and we were able to get away for a weekend in Austin! It was so wonderful to have some time away, sleep late, eat a lot, shop, and just hang out by ourselves.
We got to Austin Friday, after spending some time in Bastrop on the way. That night we ate at the Salt Lick, a bar b que restaurant Randy has wanted to try for a long time. Saturday we slept in, then shopped in the Domain area of Austin. That afternoon we headed downtown and toured the Capital building for awhile. Holly called us dorks, but we really enjoyed seeing the Capital! I can't remember when I saw it last, and Randy hasn't been since he was much younger either. We loved the big Christmas tree in the House chambers!

On our actual anniversary on Tuesday, Randy brought home flowers for me, and chocolate!! He's the best. :)
While we were in Austin, the girls were having tons of fun with their Granny!! We were so thankful Mom said she would come and that they were able to spend time with her. She drove down right after school on Thursday, we left Friday morning, came home Sunday around lunch, she drove back to FW and got home that evening and then went right back to school Monday morning! Thank you for doing that, Mom! She sent us a few pictures of the girls throughout the weekend.
They went to the park during the day on Friday but had to hurry home because the mosquitoes were so bad...in December! It has been below freezing a lot this week finally, so I think they may finally be gone, but that's crazy!

Saturday they went to the mall and did some shopping and playing.

It was raining when we got home on Sunday and they were all in the driveway splashing in the puddles. :) When we got out of the car, Cooper and Kendall climbed in to play. We noticed Cooper's sweet little footprint on the seat of the car. Love those little toes!
We had a great time away and the girls had fun with Granny! It's always great to have some time by ourselves, and then it's always fun to come home to our sweet girls!
