Let's Try This...

Since Kendall turned a year old, her eating habits (or non-eating habits) have been crazy! She was such a good eater when she was a baby, but ever since she turned into a toddler, she just hasn't really loved eating that much. Some days she has hardly eaten anything and we wonder what she is living on! Yogurt is usually something we can count on her eating, and she shares my cheerios with me in the morning, but somedays that's about it.
Lately though, she has started to try a few more foods and eat a little more each day. For instance, she would never try sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly, turkey, cheese, or any food like that, but we recently got her to eat jelly or honey on bread. She has also started eating more cheese - but most of the time she wants it shredded which is so much fun to clean up! She still doesn't eat ANY meat at all. We're still working on that!
Last week I bought her this new plate at Target, thinking that maybe it would make her want to eat more. So far, it has seemed to help a little, but she still tells us she wants something, we put it on her plate, and then it goes mostly uneaten.
The other night she said she wanted all these things...
...and we took her picture in front of her big, full plate...
...and then she ate about two spoonfuls of yogurt.

We'll keep trying! We know she's definitely not hurting - she's still a big girl! Last night she ate a whole banana and we wondered who this little girl was who kept asking for more. Probably she's a pickle-headed goose! That's what her Daddy says!

Nacho! Porter has a plate like that from Target, except it has robots on it! How funny. I love all the little sections. I hope Miss Kendall will learn to eat out of hers. :) I love that big smile on her precious face!

Hey there. Just a few thoughts...

Anna went through this and we had a terrible time getting her to eat anything but chicken nuggets. It was a battle but we won. So my first thought is "you have to make up your mind". I refused to become a catering service and it did pay off. None of my kids are super picky eaters and they don't mind a little adventure.

For cheese, try the string cheese. We always called it "tear up cheese". It's less messy and easier to carry with you.

Scrambled eggs are good too. Soft on their gums when teething and when they have a sore throat which often they can't tell you at her age.

Also, watch how much she's drinking. Many kids fill up on liquid and then are not hungry for food.

She's obviously healthy, though, and this is very normal. Just be careful to not let her get hooked on just a few things. She'll survive. Anna did. :)

Lovin' the pictures!
